Applied Physics Research Department (APRD) at AANL currently conducts research in material science. About 25 scientists, engineers, technicians, and five graduate and postgraduate students work in different groups. One of the main focuses of the Department is the study of the influence of radiation (particularly of the fast electron beams) on the physical, optical and biological properties. Basic research is carried out in the field of fundamental phenomena in wide-gap materials and their application prospects (scintillation, dosimeters and luminescent tubes, materials for nuclear energetics, etc.).
