Also, while Armenia and AANL scientists have participated around the world in many large experiments, they lacked the local infrastructure to participate in construction or testing. In 2021, we built and implemented an advanced detector laboratory [4] that will enable AANL scientists to participate directly in new developments, including the Department of Energy project on the Electron Ion Collider. The 1000-Class clean room is the first in Armenia to enable a cross-country collaborative use of such a clean room for the manufacture of materials in clean environments and testing of electronics, as well as testing of detectors in such a clean environment. The sharing and collaboration of institutes allows successful international competition. A recent success in material science puts the fabrication, irradiation, testing, and diagnosis of materials across three institutes together into a joint grant from the U.S. Office of International Naval Research.
